We go further for cleaner energy.
Arrow Energy is one of Australia’s leading producers of coal seam gas with significant assets throughout eastern Australia and Asia.
Coal seam gas is a natural gas found in coal deposits and is one of the world’s cleanest burning fuels. In Australia, coal seam gas is predominantly used by gas-fired power stations to generate electricity.
Arrow’s has built a portfolio of coal seam gas exploration tenements close to Queensland’s three key markets – Townsville, Gladstone, and Brisbane. The company holds equity interest in more than 80,000 km2 of acreage across the Bowen Basin, Surat Basin, Ipswich and Clarence Moreton Basins, Coastal Queensland Basin and Nagoorin Graben Basin.
We listed on the Australian Stock Exchange in August 2000 and have a current market capitalisation of more than $1.8 billion. Arrow is one of Australia’s top 200 publicly-listed companies.
Arrow has four producing projects which account for around 20 percent of Queensland’s overall gas production – one in the Bowen Basin near Moranbah and three in the Surat Basin near Dalby. The company plans to advance a number of highly prospective blocks over time in reaching its net production target of 116 petajoules (PJ) per year by 2012.
The company is also expecting to take advantage of more mine degassing opportunities since partnering with Anglo Coal Australia to access gas from the its Moranbah North Coal Mine.
In 2006, Arrow generated and exported first electricity from its Daandine Power Station near Dalby under a long term contract with Country Energy. In 2007, Arrow acquired the North Queensland Gas Pipeline between Moranbah and Townsville, and a gas tolling agreement for the 230MW Yabulu Power Station in Townsville when it purchased Enertrade in a 50:50 joint venture with AGL. Energy.
Currently, Arrow has certified proved and probable (2P) net reserves of 719 petajoules (PJ). We expect to have access to 1550 PJ of 2P net reserves by the end of fiscal 2008 following an exhaustive and exploration and certification program launched in July 2007.
Arrow is now working hard to realise the potential of its asset portfolio. While continuing its focus on being a low-cost producer, the company is targeting enhanced margin sales by increasing its investment in new countries and new products where gas is more exposed to oil pricing. Arrow has established a foothold in the key Asian growth markets of India, China, Vietnam and Indonesia, and signed agreements for the development of two liquefied-natural-gas (LNG) trains in Australia.
The relentless execution of Arrow’s high margin strategy by our 160 strong workforce is opening a promising new era of productivity for the company and delivering long term benefits to our shareholders.
