Water management
Quality, reliable groundwater is vital for farming, industry, and homes.
We have a comprehensive program in place, which includes monitoring water levels and quality.
We work with the independent Office of Groundwater Impact Assessment, including sharing data.
Beneficial water network
The Condamine Alluvium is an important natural resource for farmers and the community.
Arrow supplies treated water to Western Downs farmers for irrigation, increasing water security and supporting sustainable environmental management. Water produced during Arrow’s gas production process is treated to meet quality standards, before being delivered to landholders.
The arrangement provides a consistent supply of water for farming operations and environmental benefits as farmers exchange their alluvium allocation for Arrow’s treated water.
Water delivery to several farms began in 2025, with additional properties to come online in subsequent years. Upon completion, Arrow’s water network will return the equivalent of 2,800 Olympic-sized swimming pools of water each year.
Participating in the water network
Participants were selected through a rigorous process to help protect the Condamine Alluvium and support its long‑term sustainability. Eligibility required landholders to hold a current alluvium water licence with a demonstrated history of use and to be located in areas identified by the Queensland Government at the time as most likely to experience groundwater drawdown from natural gas extraction. This approach ensures the program delivers lasting environmental and agricultural benefits.
