Arrow Energy releases Reconciliation Action Plan focused on strengthening economic and social outcomes

Arrow Energy has today released its third Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP) which details 68 commitments aimed at improving economic and social outcomes for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.

The refreshed Innovate RAP outlines Arrow’s approach to strengthening partnerships with Traditional Owner groups and First Nations’ businesses and communities within Arrow’s project areas in the Surat and Bowen basins.

The RAP focusses on three priority areas to support Arrow’s ongoing reconciliation journey and improve long-term outcomes for First Nations peoples.

  1. Expand First Nations’ supplier base
  2. Strengthen cultural capability at Arrow
  3. Deliver long-term social investment.

Arrow Energy Community Manager Brydie Hedges said the RAP has been developed to deliver tangible outcomes now and in the future.

“We want to do more to support equality for and the empowerment of First Nations people by strengthening relationships built on trust and mutual benefit,” Ms Hedges said.

“At Arrow, we are committed to listening, understanding and responding to ensure First Nations’ voices and heritage are meaningfully reflected in our projects and across our business.

“As our Surat Gas Project progresses, improving First Nations’ access to supplier and job opportunities is a meaningful way we can contribute to stronger economic outcomes, and we are committed to making progress in this area.

“Through the Arrow Energy Community and Social Investment program, we are supporting improved social outcomes through access to health, education and training services that respond to the needs of First Nations’ communities.

“We also recognise that reconciliation starts at home, which is why we are focussed on improving cultural capability at Arrow so our people can better understand, respect and appreciate the cultures of First Nations people.

“Through the actions in our RAP, we hope to make an enhanced contribution to a better future for First Nations peoples.”
