Arrow set for a cool night

29 October 2013

Arrow Energy’s employees are swapping high-vis and hard hats for singlets for this week’s PWC Cool Night Classic 5km fun run in Brisbane.

The event will raise funds for The Salvation Army’s Street Level Mission and Special Olympics Young Athletes charities.

“Our Brighter Futures social investment program promotes health and safety in our communities, so what better way to demonstrate this than having an Arrow team participating in the Cool Night Classic,” Arrow Vice President Community and Sustainable Development Leisa Elder said.

The 2013 Cool Night Classic will be held on Thursday [31 October], beginning at the Riverstage, Brisbane City Botanic Gardens, at 5.30pm.

Last year, more than 5,500 participants entered the 3km and 5km walk/run, raising more than $100,000 for charity.

“In 2012, we had the second largest corporate team at 107 staff, and we’re aiming to beat that in 2013,” Mrs Elder said.

Arrow’s Brighter Futures program supports local, not-for-profit community groups and organisations undertaking projects and initiatives that make sustainable contributions to Arrow’s areas of operation throughout Queensland.
