Surat Gas Project
Arrow plans to expand its operations in Queensland’s Surat Basin with a major coal seam gas exploration, development and production project. The proposed Surat Gas Project is expected to provide gas for both the domestic and export markets. Areas covered by the Project include Arrow’s 300 existing gas production wells at Tipton West, Daandine, Stratheden and Kogan North near Dalby, and a broader area extending from Wandoan to Dalby and south to Millmerran and Goondiwindi, in which Arrow holds petroleum tenure and environmental approvals for exploration. See map The Project will be Arrow’s largest gas exploration, development and production project in the Surat Basin. Arrow expects the Surat Gas Project development will be staged and conducted progressively across the Surat Gas Project development area. The rate and extent of development will be determined by information gained from Arrow's ongoing exploration program and the level of demand in domestic and export gas markets. Arrow expects to dramatically increase its current workforce in the area and the Project will add significantly to regional economic growth. Arrow’s plans include ongoing supply to the Queensland domestic gas market and supply to the Arrow LNG Project on Curtis Island. Arrow lodged the draft EIS for the Surat Gas Project in December 2011. This was approved by the State Government for public release in March 2012, and is now available for review and comment. Click here to view the Surat Gas Project EIS. The EIS ensures that all potential environmental, social and economic impacts are identified and addressed in a manner transparent to all stakeholders. |
