Tim has over 20 years experience in coal and coal seam gas geology. He lead the coal seam gas exploration and development programs in the Huntly and Taranaki regions of New Zealand for Solid Energy NZ Ltd. He is also Adjunct Associate Professor at the Department of Geological Sciences, University of Canterbury, New Zealand. He has over 200 scientific articles, reports and abstracts on many aspects of coal geology and coal seam gas exploration and development . Previously, he worked in Indonesia consulting for a number of caompanies on on all aspects of coal science. Tim has been on the Editorial Board of the International Journal of Coal Geology since 2000.
