Andrew is an experienced resources executive and mechanical engineer with over 20 years international experience in the coal, base minerals and metals and gas production industries.
He began his career in the UK coal mines, moved to South Africa after the strikes of 1983/84, and after taking up several senior executive roles in the minerals industry, returned to the UK in 1994. He was part of a Management Buy-Out team that purchased two of the few cash generating coal mines in 1996 and began to generate power for local markets from coal seam gas soon thereafter, launching a coal seam gas company which was listed on the UK OFEX market in 2000.
In 2004 Andrew and his family migrated to Australia and began working for Sydney Gas where he progressed to Chief Operating Officer and Chief Executive Officer before resigning from the board in December 2005.
He is a member of the Society of Petroleum Engineers and the Petroleum Exploration Society of Australia. He has experience in the coal seam gas sector in Europe, the USA, China and Australia.
