Indigenous Relations

Managing relationships with Aboriginal communities holding traditional connections or historical links to areas where we operate is as important to Arrow as managing our operations.

Arrow wants to be good neighbours with Aboriginal communities connected to the areas in which we operate. Our objective is respectful, enduring relationships which facilitate social and economic development for Aboriginal people, legal access to land and a social licence for our operations.

We seek timely implementation of agreements which support our operational objectives and encourage Aboriginal enterprise through cultural heritage management and protection, employment opportunities, education and training, and community development.

In carrying out our operations we will:

  • Respect the history of the land and the culture of its people
  • Use fair and transparent dealings to pursue life-of-project relationships which result in mutually beneficial outcomes
  • Facilitate prior and informed consultation about potential impacts on Aboriginal communities, heritage and native title and, where impact is unavoidable, we will minimise, mitigate or compensate for such impacts

Arrow wants to actively partner with Aboriginal people in a way which provides participation and enterprise opportunities in the long term.
