Zhengxin Peng

Chief Executive Officer

Zhengxin Peng assumed the position of Chief Executive Officer at Arrow Energy on 15 January 2024. With more than two decades of managerial experience, including over six years of international petroleum cooperation, Zhengxin has demonstrated exceptional leadership, strategic acumen and an unwavering commitment to driving success.

Before joining Arrow in 2023, Zhengxin served as Vice President of China National Petroleum Corporation (CNPC) Australia. During his tenure, Zhengxin displayed exceptional expertise in human resources management and project strategy. His insight into human capital development and the ability to align project strategies with organisational goals were instrumental in advancing PetroChina International Investment Australia's operations and enhancing overall efficiency.

As Director of Strategy Management at CNPC International Kazakhstan from 2014 to 2016, Zhengxin exhibited a visionary approach to business strategy. His in-depth analysis of the Kazakhstan oil and gas market, coupled with adept leadership in formulating the business strategy, was pivotal in positioning CNPC International Kazakhstan for success.

Zhengxin holds a Doctorate in Technical Economics and Management from Chongqing University.

Anton Verdel

Anton Verdel

Chief Operating Officer

Anton joins Arrow as Chief Operating Officer in January 2024. An engineer by background, Anton has found his calling in people leadership and believes that safe and reliable operations lead to competitive business outcomes, when underpinned by an engaged workforce.

Anton has had a broad career with experience across Asset Management, Engineering, Operations, and Projects in Europe, Central Asia, the Middle East, Australia, and the Caribbean. Anton joins Arrow from Shell Trinidad and Tobago, where he was the General Manager Upstream looking after three offshore platforms and two onshore facilities producing gas into the domestic market and LNG facility.

He has coal seam gas experience from 2016 to 2021 during which time he was the Engineering Manager for QGC. Prior to this, Anton was the Operations Manager in Jordan from 2014 till 2016, and earlier seconded into a Joint Venture with Shell in Kazakhstan from 2010-2014.

Anton joined Shell at the Rotterdam Refinery in 2007, and holds a Masters Degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Technology Eindhoven (2007).

Born in The Netherlands, but having grown up in Nigeria and Malaysia, Anton found a passion and interest for cultures and their diversity of people from a young age.

William Pegg

William Pegg

Chief Financial Officer

With two decades of experience in the international oil and gas sector, William has held roles in operated and non-operated businesses, finance, commercial, business development, external relations and business transformation across the UK, Europe, North America, and the Asia Pacific.

Beginning his career with BG Group, he joined Shell in 2016 when the two businesses combined.

In 2024, William joined Arrow Energy as Chief Financial Officer, being seconded from Shell, with a long-standing diverse career in coal seam gas. He brings a strong, committed and values-driven leadership, focusing on business performance and external market insights.

William is a broad, integrative leader, and believes successful, safe, and reliable businesses are the result of a continued focus on people, development, diversity, equity and inclusion and an active community engagement.

Cui Ning

Cui Ning

Vice President Commercial

Cui Ning joined Arrow from China National Petroleum Corporation (CNPC)/PetroChina in September 2022 and has more than 19 years’ experience in global commercial markets, project management, strategic planning and relationship management. Ning holds a Masters of International Trading and Bachelor of Finance.

Ning began his career as a trader, progressing into strategic contracting and procurement roles in countries from China to Sudan. He has held senior leadership positions driving complex transformation initiatives, including as Deputy Director of Enterprise Management at China National Oil and Gas Exploration and Development Company (CNODC) where he led institutional reform initiatives for CNODC and its international projects.

Since joining Arrow, Ning has held several roles including the CPL Manager, where he was committed to driving Arrow's operational excellence and efficiency from a contract management perspective. He also headed Arrow’s Shareholder and Investor Relations team where he actively provided strategic advice and coordination between Arrow and shareholders, particularly in contract, procurement and logistics matters.

With a record of driving success and fostering growth in challenging environments, Ning’s strong leadership and considerable knowledge will contribute to the continued success of Arrow Energy.

Rachael Cronin

Rachael Cronin

Vice President Safety, Sustainability and People

Rachael joined Arrow Energy as Vice President, External Relations and Tenure Management in October 2021, bringing more than 20 years of senior management and leadership experience to the role.

Rachael spent almost 10 years as senior leader within the Queensland Government, during which time she played an instrumental role in helping to establish the coal seam gas industry in Queensland.

As former Deputy Director-General with the Department of Natural Resources, Mines and Energy, Rachael was responsible for tenures, land access, geological survey, safety and health and water resources management for Queensland and led significant reforms across the mining and gas industry, helping to generate improved outcomes for industry, landholders and the community.

Following her time in government, Rachael joined international management consulting firm, Nous Group, as a director and principal consultant. Rachael’s most recent position was as Head of Corporate Sustainability at CleanCo Queensland, where she led the stakeholder engagement and communications function at the government-owned electricity generation and trading company.

Rachael holds a Bachelor of Laws and a Bachelor of Commerce from Bond University and a Masters of Business Administration from the Queensland University of Technology.
