OVERVIEW
Arrow Energy is a leading Australian integrated energy company focused on the development of coal seam gas throughout eastern Australia and Asia. Our worldwide interests span coal seam gas developments, pipeline assets, electricity generation and investments in liquefied-natural gas projects.
Arrow Energy is one of Australia’s top 200 publicly-listed companies and has a current market capitalisation of more than AUS$1.5 billion. As Australia’s largest coal seam gas acreage holder, the company is now driving growth by investing in downstream projects, export LNG opportunities and international markets to secure higher margin sales.
On 2 June 2008, Arrow's plans to become Asia-Pacific's leading coal seam gas company were boosted when it announced a major alliance with global energy giant Shell. The $776 million deal will signifcantly advance Arrow's domestic and international plans.
Arrow has access to more than 90,000 km2 of coal seam gas exploration tenements close to Queensland’s three key markets – Townsville, Gladstone, and Brisbane. Our four producing projects currently account for more than 20 percent of Queensland’s overall gas production. We plan to advance a number of highly prospective blocks over time in reaching our net domestic production target of 116 petajoules (PJ) per year by 2012.
The company has the rights to dispatch power from the Yabulu Power Station in Townsvillle and the Daandine Power Station near Dalby. More recently, Arrow announced it would partner with ERM Power to jointly develop the 450MW Braemar 2 Power Station. Arrow’s net generation capacity will be 370MW when the project is completed.
Arrow’s gas infrastructure assets include the North Queensland Gas Pipeline between Moranbah and Townsville, the Moranbah Gas Processing Facility, and the rights to develop the 440km Central Queensland Gas Pipeline (CQGP) between Moranbah and Gladstone. The CQGP will facilitate the supply of up to 150 PJ/year of gas from the company’s Bowen Basin projects to a planned LNG export facility in Gladstone.
On the back of a strong Australian base, Arrow has now established a strong foothold in the key Asian growth markets of China, India, Indonesia and Vietnam. Large coal seam gas resources, limited competition, increasing energy demands, and high gas prices combine to present the international marketplace as a significant growth opportunity for our company.
